Miserable

Well the day got off to a slow and gentle start. Sylvie was running a low grade fever and I basically forced her to stay in bed and rest (aka watch Sesame Street). Poor kid, I mean look at those bags under her eyes!

But eventually her spirits (and energy) lifted and we had a pretty good day. At some point in the afternoon I decided to pull out her paints and let her go at it. She had a blast!

And of course found herself painting body parts in record time.

Aaaaand making a big huge mess that continuously inched closer and closer to our nice clean rug and couch. (totally totally stupid idiotic move on my part to have her painting in our living room, it's just where the easel has been for the past couple of months and I ridiculously thought the yellow splat mat would provide good enough coverage. Ha!)

When she purposefully put her red-blue-green-orange paint smeared hand on my ottoman (thank you leather upholstery, you cleaning angel) I declared her artistic session over and told her we needed to clean up. Sylvie was, understandably, not too happy about this decision.

Cue the snotworks...

And I moved the easel to it's now permanent spot in our kitchen. Lesson learned.
