Meet Mr. Sprinkle

And yet another goodie from Grandma Kathy, okay, so I forgive her for the no nap thing! She bought Sylvie this sprinkler, figuring it was a perfect addition to our little yard. Sylvie was very excited about it and anxious for us to set it up, until we actually turned the water on. Sylvie has this thing about water touching her head and face, and she was simultaneously terrified and thrilled by this thing in action.

This was the absolute closest she'd get, you can see her sticking her tongue out trying to catch some stray water drops.

So we realized we could turn the water pressure on super super low, and although the sprinkler (Mr. Sprinkle as Sylvie dubbed him) looks a little sad and pathetic this way, Sylvie actually had the courage to get up close and check him out!

It seriously took many many minutes and many attempts before she was comfortable enough to actually touch the water.

But oh man, once she crossed that boundary there was NO stopping her.

She's still kinda pathetically scared of Mr. Sprinkle if he accidentally gets turned on full blast. John and I can't help but feel like she's totally and completely missing the whole point of a fun crazy sprinkler like this, with whipping arms and feet and crazy sprays of water all over the place, but oh well. She LOVES him.
