We usually have to prompt her to say them, but Sylvie knows all about her pleases and thank yous. The "please" is of course much easier, because you can pretty much get a toddler to do anything when you're dangling a potato chip in front of her. The "thank you" is the stickler, because once she has said potato chip in that grubby little hand she's much less invested in making us happy. We're working on it though!
So John has started doing the whole "what's the magic word?" prompt when waiting for Sylvie to say please. I think she's sorta missing the point though because her new way of asking for something is to come up to us and say "what'sthemagicwordPLEASE?" while batting those big blue eyes.
