Bambi!

Today was a beautiful day, so Sylvie and I headed to the park before going to work this afternoon. As soon as I told her we were going to feed the deer she reminded me that we needed to bring carrots.

After several minutes Sylvie had given out almost all of her carrots, when another family alerted us to an exciting development on the opposite side of the deer enclosure. So we took a walk around the park and found a small group of deer hanging out:

And check out what's hiding behind that deer in the foreground:

A brand new, teeny tiny baby deer! And another one too:

Unfortunately Sylvie was totally oblivious to the baby deer and didn't seem remotely interested in why I was so excited. The older deer were very protective of the babies and didn't even want to come over to eat our left over carrots. At one point we saw one of the babies try to stand up, but he was a little too wobbly and plopped back down after a few steps. I wonder just how brand new they were, I've never EVER seen them this small. They were quite literally half the size of Sylvie! So unbelievably adorable!

In my opinion the deer was less than 24 hours old. We had one born on our farm that thought our horse (a gelding) was his Mom.
Your baby girl is precious, and in some photos looks a lot like your Mom.
