Moments later while John and I were cooking dinner we heard Sylvie mumbling some familiar phrases.
"cow jumping over the moon....three little bears sitting on chairs...2 little kittens...pair of mittens..."
We both gasped at about the same time, because we realized she was reciting Goodnight Moon from memory. It's her favorite bedtime story, which we read every single night (it's always the last book we read before turning off the lights). She likes to chime in with some of her favorite phrases while we're reading it to her, but we didn't realize she could recite most of it from memory! She then burst into some lines from welcome, winter, welcome. Another favorite in this household. Once she finished the bedtime stories she gave each of her dolls a goodnight kiss:

And then was so pleased with herself she decided to do a little dance:

She went on to play with some other toys and games around the house and came back about 30 minutes later, to re-arrange her dolls of course!

Once she got the placement just right she proudly exclaimed "Look at my friends mommy! Friends sleeping!"
Goodnight friends!

She's such a good friend to all of her little friends! What fun she must have had putting them all to bed and making sure they were covered so they'd be nice and warm. How cute!
