I went in to Sylvie's room today during her nap and found her like this. I don't get to see her sleeping that often anymore, she goes to bed awake at night and for her naps, and she's usually the one who wakes me up every morning! So this was a rare treat and I found myself totally overwhelmed by how angelic she looked. She woke up soon after I snapped this pic and just wanted me to hold her for a few moments while she gathered the energy to go forth with the 2 year old hustle and bustle. She felt so warm and smelled so fresh and sweet and was so still in my arms and I really felt like I could have sat there soaking it in for the entire afternoon. The title of this post is from the book Where the Wild Things Are, and I think it sums up the intensity of a parent's love quite well.
So, today is the 6 month anniversary of the Daily Syl. I can't believe it! We came up with the idea of a daily blog on a whim and I really didn't think we'd have it in us to keep up with it. And now I'm just so glad that we have. Thanks to everyone that checks in with us and reads the blog, thanks for the comments and the emails. We love them!! We started this blog because we were always feeling guilty about not sending enough pics to the grandparents, aunt A, etc. We figured this was the easiest way to keep everyone happy, and we hope you agree!
Here's to another 6 months!

She looks SO peaceful and content! And I know the feelings you expressed when you looked at her deep in dreamland.....I've experienced them, too. I remember one day just looking down on my sleeping baby.... I was in awe, and couldn't seem to concentrate on anything else at the moment. I just stayed there enjoying the moment.
a big thanks for the DailySyl! brightens each and every day!
