See the gold star to the right of Sylvie's arm in the picture above? She hung that one totally by herself. We let her help us hang the ornaments, which translated to her picking out the ornament, picking out the spot, and then John or I would do the work of hanging it. But with that star above she just grabbed it out of the box, walked over to the tree and hung it herself. The especially cute part was when she stepped back, admired her handiwork, and exclaimed "oooh, perfect!" We couldn't agree more! Here is a close up:

John and I have no idea how the star is hanging there, somehow the string from the star got hooked on to the little metal zeppelin ornament that was already hanging. But we tried to figure out exactly how she did it, where it's connected, and we just can't figure it out without undoing it. Upon close inspection it really appears to be just floating there. Perfect!
Oh and um, while uploading today's pictures I found this one that John must have taken while I wasn't paying attention. Note blurry Sylvie in the background. This is a close up of a fortune cookie message from last night, which I guess John and Sylvie shared today. Are they trying to drop a hint?

How wonderful that Sylvie took part in decorating the tree.......and how wise of you to hang the ornaments the way you did. Wonder how she's gonna feel when that tree gets taken down......don't be surprised if there's some tears!
