We left the hotel by 7am this morning and made it home in one piece by 11:30. Smooth sailing. There was hardly anyone on the road and thankfully the storm was much weaker than anticipated. The worst part of the drive was probably in Maryland and Delaware, when at it's most harrowing point our windshield and wipers kept icing over, making it very difficult to see much of anything. It was a slightly stressful 45 minutes.

Since Sylvie's sleep was all messed up from the entire weekend (going to bed after midnight both nights, waking up earlier than usual both mornings, oh and did I mention that she refused to nap yesterday afternoon?) and John and I were beat from the driving and the weather and the toddler wrangling, we spent the entire day in bed or on the couch. We watched some tv, napped a bit, read some books. It was delightful!
At some point we got motivated enough to finish decorating the tree and the rest of the house. Which included hanging this advent calendar from Mary. We put a little piece of chocolate in the number 2 box and let Sylvie go to town.

Right before she took this bite she looked at me and said "nibble nibble".

Sharing her nibbles with daddy. Note the following two things:
1. my husband does not actually have a hump back.
2. isn't our Target tree, for $19.99 thankyouverymuch, just adorable?!

Glad you made it home with no trouble.........snowstorms are not the easiest things to travel in. Sylvie looks like she enjoyed her chocolate and was quite willing to share with daddy.
Just checking the new format.

You didn't let us know Syl's reaction to the tree WITH decorations! Is it still just a ho-hum no big deal??
Yes, I'm curious, too, as to how she took to the decorated tree.
The Christmas tree will be more fun for Syl when she wakes up on Christmas day and realize that there are so many presents around the tree. By the way Kacey, did you get Syl a train yet? I also think that it will be years before Syl realizes that there is no such thing as Santa. Until then she will have fun every year.
Love Steppy
