Tuesday Night is Guest Blogger Night: Ambulance Chaser

Sylvie LOVES seeing any and all emergency vehicles...police cars, fire trucks, ambulances...heck, she'll even gawk at mall security guard's Suzuki Sidekick as long as it has a flashing yellow light on the roof. Lucky for Sylvie (and for all of us, in case of emergency), the police department, fire house and EMT HQ are all just a block away. So whenever we hear a siren starting up down the road, we look at each other with wide eyes for 2-3 dramatic seconds, then I run to her, scoop her up, and we book it to the front door and out onto the patio. If we're able to get outside before the vehicle passes, she'll point, hoot and holler with delight. And if it's a fire truck roaring by, Sylvie will invariably ask "is Santa is on the truck?" Seems Old St. Nick's visit in December made quite an impression on her. Anyway, the shot above was right after an ambulance passed this evening. As you can see, it was quite exciting. I'm not quite sure how or why it started, but we usually comment how "That was crazy!!" a few times before heading inside. It's especially cute when she shouts it with her little baby lisp.

NOTE: Please check back tomorrow morning for a new post. As mentioned, Kacey entered Sylvie's room into a home design website contest for creative storage of kids stuff. We got an email from the website this evening that her entry will be posted tomorrow morning around 10am. We'd love for you all to check out the site.

How nice it is that Sylvie can get to look at those emergency vehicles when they pass by your house......even if she's disappointed that Santa isn't on one of them! It's nice that she can associate happy things about them, tho.

You guys should bring Sylvie down to my parents' Toms River house sometime. There's always tons of emergency vehicle activity, what with all the old people and stuff.
