I stir eggs?

When Sylvie woke up this morning I surprised her with the excitement of making french toast for breakfast. She immediately gasped and said "I stir eggs?" This is an activity she picked up at her Grandma Kathy's house, and she looooves it. She has a toddler sized wisk in her little kitchen, and it's by far her favorite utensil. I couldn't take too many pics today because as soon as I'd pick up the camera to catch a shot she'd stick her fingers in the egg and try to eat it. Yeah. I did distract her with the cinnamon - only that backfired on me too. You can see her sprinkling some into the eggs in the first picture, and at this point I'd say she was doing a pretty good job:

It was probably about 5 seconds later that she managed to dump about a third of the spice jar into the bowl. Whoops! You'll notice the nice brown marbled look to the eggs in the picture below:

In the end our breakfast was still quite yummy. Good job Syl!

i can attest to the fact that the girl does stir eggs very well! kac, when we make french toast at my house i put the cinnamon in a separate container so that it's just the right amount. i do the same with the vanilla, too. did you forget the vanilla? that's really the secret ingredient, along with a touch of cream, too. mmmmm...hungry now! xxoo

Wonderful idea, Kathy........if she has a specific amount to work with there's no danger of over-flavoring. It's nice that she feels she had a part in the preparation of her meal. She looks like she's enjoying it.

We have a similar operation for when Grandpa the Fish gets fed. If she had control of the entire can of fish food, we'd have one fat Grandpa by now and would probably need a bigger tank. I give her two taps of food into the cap, and she happily dumps it in.
