Happy Birthday Grandma Winnie!!

Today was a great day. First we met Chloe, Gina and John at a local mall. We've been trying to get together for weeks and were not going to be deterred by a torrential downpour. The mall has a great indoor toddler playground, a train and carousel, and even the Easter Bunny, so it was the perfect rainy day activity. I think between the two of them Sylvie and Chloe went on the rides a dozen times or so. Sylvie shocked me by demanding to see the Easter Bunny, she absolutely loved him and didn't want to get off his lap. It was so cute! And Gina and I even snuck off for about 10 minutes of uninterrupted shopping time (while both Johns watched the girls). Unfortunately our camera battery died after John snapped the first three pictures, so this is the only shot I have of both girls.

Later on that day, and after recharging our camera battery, we celebrated Grandma Winnie's birthday. Once Sylvie caught on that there was a birthday going on she fashioned this "birthday cake" out of mashed potatoes, a lemon slice and a bread stick. She then sang happy birthday and blew the candle, er breakstick, out.

And then the REAL dessert came!

Sylvie blows out the candle for Winnie:

Winnie claps for Sylvie (don't you just love how Winnie's birthday party becomes ALL ABOUT Sylvie?? Gotta love it.)

Yum!!!

Happy Birthday Gram!! We love you so much, I think it goes without saying that you have been my role model for as long as I can remember. You are the kindest, most generous, thoughtful and nurturing person I've ever known. I am thankful for you every single day, and even more so now that Sylvie has you in her life too. I love you so much. Happy birthday!!! xoxoxoxo

Thank you for all the compliments! Sylvie sure had a great time that night.......she was the icing on the cake for me. I love her imagination.....if there's no candle, then use whatever else is there to represent it! Of course, eventually she had the real thing and could actually blow out the candle. We all enjoyed it.
