We didn't have much planned for today, and waking up to no electricity in our house (or our entire town for that matter) kept our options to a minimum anyway. So as it turns out our gas heat doesn't work when the electricity is out. Odd. (anyone know why that could be?) So in addition to having no phone, no computers, no tv and no radio, we didn't have any heat! We stayed bundled up and snuggled under the covers and read some books, sang some songs and just had a veeeeeerrrrrry lazy morning. I think the highlight for Sylvie was getting to feed the fish. Take a look at the cap on the fish food:
Do you really think we'd let Sylvie dump the entire thing into the bowl?! And bless her heart, the clueless little thing was still so proud of herself:
P.S. The electricity AND heat did come back on this afternoon, thankfully, and just in time for an icy hail storm tonight!

It probably has an electronic ignition relay.
Yes, my gas dryer is initially turned on by electricity although it runs on gas. Sylvie looks quite serious about feeding her fish. Make sure you keep that fish food up out of her sight in case she gets the feeling some day that her fish is "hungry"!
