I love you shirt. Yes I do.

Sylvie got a package from Grandma Mimi in the mail today. She tore right into it and was so excited to see a brand new potty book!! She already has a potty book from Mimi, but it features a little boy and all of his boy parts. We thought maybe a book about a little girl would be easier for her to relate to. Now she's just so thrilled to have TWO potty books, and she wanted to read both of them simultaneously.

She read them through several times and then remembered that there were other surprises waiting for her in the package. She was very excited to find two shirts, and wanted to try them on immediately.

While attempting to get this one on she made up a little song. "I love you shirt. Yes I do. I love love love love you shirt. Yes I do." She sang it over and over again.

so i guess the next big step will be reading the potty books while actually sitting on the potty?

Oh we already do that...she sits on the potty almost every day and we read the potty books (sometimes three times in a row) while she sits there. And she gets up every time and looks in the bowl, like um is she expecting something to be there? Without having helped it out? LOL. Oh well, one of these days it will happen. I recently read that there is a good window for potty training around 18 months of age, and after that the window usually disappears until around 2.5 or older. I'm perfectly fine waiting, and don't want to push her before she's ready. I just figure until that point some helpful cues can't hurt!
