Her little friends

I can't remember if I've mentioned how much Sylvie loves her stuffed animals. She LOVES them, adores them, carries them around the house constantly, dances with them, has conversations with them, has me enact scenes with them, and the list goes on and on. It's getting a little out of hand, because now her collection is so large that her constant group (I'm not including the ones that are either too nice or too sentimental for everyday play) now takes up about 50% of the real estate in her crib, 100% of the space on her rocking chair, 2 baskets on her book shelves, and the seats on her little wooden push car. Sylvie's stuffed animals are taking over her little room! But she loves them so much that everytime I think about getting rid of some, or at least putting some away, I just can't bring myself to do it. And yes I did just buy her another one for Christmas, a little miniature Grover for her stocking.

So today when I was getting her dressed I had to clear some space on her rug, which was littered with her dolls. I sat them all against the crib and she started laughing and pointing and for whatever reason she just thought it was hilarious, I guess we've never arranged them like that. She let me dress her and then jumped right up and grabbed a spot next to them. I asked her if she wanted to read a book to her friends, which she thought was a great idea. She ran to her bookshelf and grabbed the first book she spotted, ran back to her spot and put the book in front of her Abby Cadabby doll. She then said, very seriously, "here you go, Abby."

Abby just sat there like a bump on a log, so Mommy came to the rescue and read the story to the whole bunch of them.

What a nice collection! She's lucky to have them, and them to have her! I always loved stuffed animals, even as an adult....maybe she'll be the same. I'm glad she enjoys them so much.
